The most recent gadget I have bought is the iPhone 12. My last one was iPhone 6, white, 256Gb and definitely is really an upgrade for me. The black iPhone 12 is a testament to Apple’s commitment to premium design. DO NOT BUY FROM BECEXTECH!!!!

On 10/04/2024 I purchased an iPhone 12 (advertised as 5G 128GB Australian Stock - As New) fpr $689.00 from BecexTech on the My Deal website. The phone arrived on 18/04/2024 and by all accounts from the exterior of the phone it was in pristine condition. When I transferred to the new phone, I could not the get the Face ID to work. Initially, I thought I was doing something wrong. I then took it to my local Telco shop where I purchased a glass screen protector and cover (cost of $50) and at the same time asked the assistant if he could help me set up the Face ID function on the phone. He tried twice and re-started the phone, then re-set it and told me I should return it to the seller as he thinks it has a software problem. I immediately emailed BecexTech and they asked me to return the phone to them, at my expense (another $14). I had the phone for less than a month and believed it would fall under their 6-month warranty period. A few days later I received an email with a report from a business called Renewable Care to be told that ‘upon internal inspection of the phone we have found signs of liquid damages, including corrosion present on the right side red LCI. Liquid damage is due to customer misuse affecting the Face ID. As this is liquid damage, there is not any out of warranty repair quote as there is a high chance of further issues.” I categorically did not cause water damage to this phone, and at no stage was there any way of me knowing this phone had previous water damage. To add salt to the wound I was being charged a further $55 for the so-called technical report and postage to return the phone to me.

I have told My Deal that they have badly let me down in this case, and that I will not under any circumstances accept the phone on delivery as I do not want their damaged product. I have now bought a brand-new iPhone 13 from JB Hi-Fi for $200 more than these unscrupulous sellers sold me the iPhone 12 for. PLEASE do your research and DO NOT BUY from these sellers who treat their customers with disdain.

As a buyer on the My Deal website I honestly believed that there would be some consumer protection or at least someone that would take an unbiased view that I had not damaged the phone. After weeks of communication, they returned to me to say the seller is not at fault and as I had not returned the phone within 14 days there was nothing further they could do. They went on to say that ’The Seller has advised that their internal processes ensure that each product undergoes a quality check before dispatch. However, due to the nature of the Seller’s operations, they may not always be able to provide individual quality check records for specific orders.”

BexexTech themselves, admit that they do not provide individual quality check records for specific orders. So, buyers like myself are open to be sold products that are not up to standard or faulty. I am finding it very difficult to understand how My Deal can endorse a seller with this sort of policy. What consumer protection do they offer their buyers – absolutely nothing! Buyers like myself are open to be sold products that a) have not been properly refurbished/checked and b) are not in the working order that they are advertised to be – in my case ‘as new’.

PLEASE do your research and DO NOT BUY from these sellers!

Dear Control Z Support Team,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the iPhone 12 (order number: [4829862261]) that I purchased from your website on [18 oct 2024]. Unfortunately, I have encountered the following issues:

My first issue is regarding the rear camera, which has been replaced with a duplicate one. This duplicate camera is giving very poor quality compared to my friend's iPhone.

Secondly, when I go to edit any picture, the cancel and done buttons are not working on the display.

The third problem is that the upper right side of the display is slightly raised, and there’s a small gap between the body and the display.

Fourthly, the battery backup is very poor. The phone loses around 1% of battery every 4 minutes while I'm listening to music, watching videos, or using social media.If I leave the phone at 69% charge at night, it shows around 50% in the morning, indicating a significant battery issue.

Lastly, in the settings, I see a warning regarding the rear camera and display.

I bought this phone because of the reviews left by fellow customers here in Very & although it’s only a phone it’s falls short on so many levels!

OK so it’s smart (fast) charge but it has to be as the battery drains awfully fast, As usual Apple are paying way too much attention to the camera quality & gimmicks, I have to type all of my passwords in over & over as I don’t feel safe at all saving them to a cloud I personally avoid cloud storage on anything that I’ve got but my tablet, PC & old Nokia phone remember my passwords although I declined cloud storage.

Now if you haven’t got the hearing of a dog you’re going miss the vast majority of your alerts as they’re incredibly quiet that they’re literally almost silent which is massively annoying!

It’s an Apple phone so for everything to work at an optimal operating level you’ve got to fork out for Apple this & Apple that & I’ve literally just brought over so many Google Apps & rid the phone of so many completely unnecessary apps by Apple so it has some function to it now but what’s the point when you can’t even hear the thing alerting you, even the ringer goes lower after a few seconds, it’s a smart phone as in it looks good but the phone itself is very much like everything that’s claimed to be “Smart” nowadays it’s not, there’s nothing here that’s new it’s kinda like a phone I say kinda as phones usually can be heard when they’re ringing!

Also the spellcheck thing is awful if you need it (I don’t) & it won’t recognise some English words at all? Also get ready for the phone to start making decisions of its own or when you you have to ask apps not to track you & you never here back now I’ve never seen this option of asking an app not to track me, it’s a bad infringement on basic human privacy rights.

It’s only real pro for me is that it’s an extremely well made phone & well designed all of that being just to look at, the interior is a mess!
