This is our 3rd Lego Advent calendar, and our first HP one. We thought the set was great, especially that it is about the first book. Our kids are younger and have only heard the first book, so for play-ability this is perfect.

However, we bought the advent calendar to share between our 2 kids, and we split it even/odd days. But Lego planned this very poorly. All but one character is on all even days. So one child will be left with only the Goblin. Not everyone can afford calendars for each child, and I think this shows very poor planning and forethought on Lego's behalf.

I am super disappointed that this is the case, and really hope they think about that for next year.

We've spent THOUSANDS of dollars on Harry Potter Legos. Were a big time HP family. This is the first lego set i have been sorely disappointed with. There are No instructions so in order to build the first lego peice needed to even start I had to spend a lot of time just searching for instructions. I then also had to rely on the internet to figure out how to even play the game. Which if you have younger kids you know, the time waiting for me to even figure it out put everyone in a bad mood. Why not just send instructions with the box like every other lego kit? Or make the instructions more clear on the outside of the box? This is our first lego advent calender and will probably be our last. For the money spent in this....it already is more of a hassle.

I have multiple Harry Potter sets and this is my third Harry Potter Advent Calendar and it has been very disappointing. I still haven’t opened all the days but each day I open is another disappointment. A pile of gold? A Wand case? A table? So many small items by themselves that don’t make sense. Except for the figurines, I haven’t seen anything special on this set that made it worth. There is one item that I still haven’t figured out what is it. It’s a very boring set. I do not recommend!

I was disappointed that this only went up to day 24, as I’ve seen many calendars that go until Christmas Day on the 25th. The sets are cute, but there weren’t many that had a Christmas theme. There was only one Christmas tree, and repeats of very cute small things that I already have from other sets. So they’re cute, but I have them already. In the past there were more Christmas type objects available, and I’ve used them to decorate my Hogwarts great hall set every year. For the cost I wouldn’t recommend this set, it didn’t add to the Christmas spirit.
