I received this candle today - the label has a crease on it and looks quite grubby and dirty, and the top of the candle has some small scratches and bits of black fluff on it. It looked more like a display candle than a new one. The person on the Mecca live chat said that this was normal and that it was consistent with the ‘Wabi-Sabi’ philosophy of the brand. This just doesn’t seem right, particularly given the price point. I’m all for a bit of character and understand that hand poured candles may differ in consistency - but a dirty, creased label and slightly scratched surface just does not seem consistent with this is a relatively high end brand. If you are wanting to purchase this candle for yourself or as a gift, just be aware that it is apparently normal for the candle to come in this condition (pictures attached).

I was also told I couldn’t get a refund as the box had been opened and have to settle for a store credit instead. Not satisfied with this purchase at all.

I’m all for a bit of character and understand that hand poured candles may differ in consistency - but a dirty, creased label just does not do it for me, especially coming from a relatively high end brand. If you are wanting to purchase this candles for yourself or as a gift, just be aware that the candle packaging comes with a lot of “character” (pics for reference).

I always re-order this candle especially during the Christmas period as it's a great pick me up for my home in the dark dreary days of January. The fragrance really fills the room and the rich opulence feels so luxurious. I also have the fragrance version and it's one of my favourites. It lasts well and I often keep the jars once the candle is finished as they make really lovely glass tumblers for spirits and other drinks!

Santal 26 is absolutely amazing! The scent is warm, smoky, and woody, with just the right amount of depth. It’s not overpowering but fills the room beautifully. The candle burns evenly and lasts a long time, making it a luxurious addition to any space. Definitely worth the splurge if you love a sophisticated, subtle fragrance.
